Give young people the chance to attend an inspiring online talk with none other than Farah Alibay in conversation with Maude Carmel ! From their classrooms, more than 500 students can attend the event and share a moment with the famed NASA scientist, whose brilliant journey will leave a lasting impression on them. Students will be able to ask her questions and learn all about how she carved out her place among the stars!

Farah Alibay is a Québécoise aerospace engineer. Born in Montréal, she spent much of her childhood in Joliette, where she learned to fix and build things by herself and became fascinated by space exploration. Her passions led her to pursue studies in ærospace engineering at renowned universities including Cambridge and MIT. In 2014, she joined NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where she has worked on the Mars 2020 mission, specifically the Perseverance rover, which landed on Mars in February 2021.
Alibay also has an avid interest in science communication. She has been featured in numerous newspapers, television and radio shows, and conferences around the world. She encourages women and minorities to pursue careers in STEM and has made it her mission to make the field more diverse and unbiased.

Maude Carmel S’étant principalement faite connaître via ses rôles au petit écran dans les populaires séries Tactik puis Les Parents, elle continue de cumuler les apparitions à la télé, à la radio et sur le web. Depuis maintenant plusieurs années, Maude s’illustre particulièrement auprès du jeune public, notamment par sa riche présence sur les plateformes Instagram et Youtube. Très impliquée dans la lutte aux changements climatiques, elle co-animé l’évènement La Planète s’invite à l’école aux côté de Hubert Reeves en plus de se transformer en professeure de sciences à l’émission Les Suppléantsà Télé Québec au printemps 2020. Or, cet intérêt pour les sciences, sa polyvalence et son engagement font d’elle le choix tout indiqué pour animer cet événement avec brio.
Mission principale de la fondation
La Fondation du Cosmodôme vient en aide aux enfants issus de milieux défavorisés ou en situation d’adversité en leur permettant d’avoir accès aux activités ou aux programmes offerts par le Cosmodôme. Elle est entièrement appuyée par les employés du Cosmodôme, ce qui lui permet de remettre 95% des fonds amassés aux organismes et aux écoles.
